Achievements and Growth

Wijnland Fertility has been rated as one of the top world-class IVF clinics in internationally.

Our business grew by 10% in IVF cycles, and we expanded significantly into the international market.

In 2025, Wijnland treated patients from around the world, including:
Russia, USA, UK, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, and across Africa.

Technology and Innovation

State of the art technology is critical at Wijnland Fertility. We use the best available technology  to provide outstanding service, care and quality of services for our patients. Our IVF laboratory now uses the latest EmbryoScope+™ with IDAScore® technology.

This state-of-the-art technology, driven by artificial intelligence, allows for undisturbed embryo culture and advanced monitoring. It assists embryologists select the optimal embryo for transfer.

Dr. Johannes van Waart also collaborates with Vitrolife, demonstrating the benefits of EmbryoScope technology not only for improving success rates but also for helping patients better understand their embryos.
 

Success Rates
For all our IVF patients — across all age groups — we achieved a 60% clinical pregnancy rate.
We also contribute actively to global ART statistics through ICMART, and we received:

  • Contributing Certificates for annual research in Assisted Reproductive Technology
  • ANARA Contributing Certificates for data contributions within Africa

Training and Professional Development

Dr Candice Morrison
Completed her Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine (University of Stellenbosch) and earned the Sub-specialty Certificate in Reproductive Medicine from the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa.
The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (CMSA), established in 1954, continues to uphold and promote excellence, ethical practice, and professional development in healthcare — values we strongly support.

Embryology Excellence
Cheyenne Steyn, our Lead Embryologist, is the only ESHRE-qualified embryologist in South Africa, a remarkable achievement for our laboratory and patients.

Donor Banks

We have had a robust oocyte vitrification program since, 2013, making us one of the first egg banks in South Africa. Many of our donors come from Stellenbosch — a vibrant university town known for top quality sperm and egg donors.

Our sperm bank supplies donor samples to clinics across South Africa.

Wijnland Fertility proudly supports all families, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples. At Wijnland Fertility we believe that all individuals or couples have the right to start a family, and we walk with you every step of the way on your journey.

We also offer a known sperm donor program, and we are the only sperm bank in South Africa and Africa to provide donors from the Seattle Sperm Bank (USA).
We are excited to continue our partnership with the Seattle Sperm Bank to distribute donor sperm throughout Southern Africa.
