Where it started

The Van Waart family’s interest in the field of fertility started in 1993, when Lizanne and Johannes went through three years of fertility treatment before conceiving their second son by a GIFT procedure. But first they experienced about three miscarriages in the years before fertility treatment.

Our Approach

Our patient-centred approach here at Wijnland fertility is what differentiates us. Technically, most of the fertility services are provided by numerous other clinics, but they are offered in isolation.

Wijnland Fertility chooses to use a biopsychosocial model (BPS) with is a general model or approach stat that biological, psychological (thoughts, emotions, and behaviours) and social (socio-economcal, -evironmental & cultural) factors all play a significant role in human functioning in the context of disease or illness.

We aim to treat patients physically, psychologically and socially in a warm, welcoming environment. For us it is not just about success rates, but rather the total experience. In fact, it’s this approach that increase our odds and it shows in the numbers.
The Clinic

Wijnland has invested wisely in their intellectual property, giving their patients exposure to exceptionally trained staff who are committed to upholding and striving to improve international standards and success rates. Furthermore, they have acquired state of the art equipment, amongst others the now well-recognised EmbryoscopeTM, that allows laboratory staff to optimise embryo development and success rates.

Laboratory
We have some of the latest labratory equipment and advanced technologies available to provide our patients with the best possible care in assisted reproduction.

All our equipment is top-of-the-range, specialized IVF equipment imported from leading IVF manufactures. The consumable we use in our protocols are IVF approved and tested to be safe for use in embryos and sperm. Our embryologies are trained scienticially and practically in IVF processes and are registered with the HPCSA.

In 2010, the first IVF was done at Wijnland and our third patient fell pregnant. From then on the results have been overwhelming and we have always strived to continue to provide an excellent laboratory service.
